This was creepy and dark! That feeling of unrest did not leave me through out this book.  Dr Abbott certainly added to this creepiness. Weird experiments and strange medicines make this a very interesting read. Robert is such a loveable character and I hated the fact that he had to struggle that much to see his brother but then I loved the help he received some from unexpected people as well. There are plenty of interesting characters in this story from Edith to Mason you will definitely not be bored reading this.

What!! This was incredible! The combined genius that is @rcbridgestockauthor that gives us this book, really understand police procedure and it come through in this magnificent book! That was like a lesson in police 101 and it was fascinating! The story is gripping and the fear I had for Abi's life was real and tremendous! I think firearm police have a terrible job as there will always be someone that claims you could have done better or why did you have to shoot and this book gave us a decent insight into an officer who did and what she has lived through. Or was it on purpose.... well i have a million things running around in my mind at the moment! This was excellent with such detail your mind will be reeling like mine when done!

I have to say that I'm convinced that @juliecohenauthor is the queen of unhinged! Her books have the balance of this is genius and this is so wicked!! I absolutely love her characters and their stories and she has done it again! Gwen seems super normal until her wishlist starts coming true, I mean come on we all have had those lists , but what if it actually happened?? This was hilarious and yet thrilling to the point where I was on the edge of my seat. What a rollercoaster!! This book made my day! You have to read this, it was such a great escape for me.

I love these!! It's like a mini series with a new episode every week! This being the third book in the series, we know Bree well by now and when she is faced with a new mystery she plunges down the rabbit hole! Almost every character in this comes across as a bit morally grey with their own agenda on the go which makes this even more nerve wrecking! This was intriguing and had me guessing at every new information drop. The narration by Sophie Bloor was fantastic and her voice added that emphasises on how young Bree is. This has been great and I do advise you to start at the beginning of Book one - it does help that I know Bree a bit better. Thank you @netgalley and @victoryeditingngc for this advanced copy.

This was an intense storyline with a good measure of twists! Kept me on the edge of my seat, constantly flipping between revenge and crazy. The truth in the end was even more deranged. Great pacing ensured that there was never a dull moment, as the clues are revealed the pacing did as well leaving me breathless and stunned at the end! Great read!!

The writing is vivid and the fear palpable, I had goosebumps through many of these scenes and with each new page that ominous feeling kept growing and the twists, oh my goodness!!! How bloody awful is the truth! I LOVED the song list, this added another layer to the book that you have to do! I thought this was extremely clever! The characters were vivid with distinct personalities and I swear I could hear the mumbling from Mabel, the childish comments from Persephone and the japs from Nugget. This was cosy and warm when I expected bloody and cold! What an incredible way to turn a story around. I loved this and I loved Mabel - how could you not! A story twisted and made to fit people's expectations and finally the truth is let out, yes this did give time to ponder about life as well and how quick we are to judge and follow the sheep of life. Truly this was a gift to my ears one I will ponder for some time to come!!

What a compelling story!! Not just did we walk straight into an obscene murder, we also have children involved and a gangland angle! Now this is my type of thriller! @hdurrant.author had me intrigued straight from the intro all the way through! Anything gang related you always assume the worse and yet this was different! I thoroughly enjoyed the snippets of info tgat gets send our way as we uncover the complex relationships in this book. I really enjoyed the twist in relation to Swann. This is going to be an epic series to follow, including the relationship between him and Kat. The audio by Orlando Wells was exciting, his use of different voices and tones really gave the book an edge, I would highly recommend doing the Audiobook! This was fast paced and the twists just kept coming! I had no clue by the end and I was shocked to my core by the end! I simply can't wait for the next one! I loved this so much! In this Digital age the most terrifying thing about it is the fact that a clever person could and probably would come up with an app like this to hunt down innocents. So to have this in a thriller with the most devastating result chilled me to my core! Angela is an amazing character, very young and naive but yet it added to the authenticity of the story. This was fast paced with short chapters, an addictive read that I could not put down. I hope @jamespattersonbooks and @christebbetts makes this into a series, I will be first at the door to buy the next one!

I want to know everything! This was intense and fast paced, laced throughout with the sick depravity of a man who clearly lost himself a long time ago. What the result is was a novel that had me engaged, shuffling through the pages as fast as my eyes can read them. What an incredible rush! Just amazing! Holy heck! What did just happen!! Where do I even start? This was fast paced right from the start and it felt like it just picked up more pace as you go. I was flying through these pages! What starts off as a murder investigation very quickly turns into us, stepping into the underbelly of a truly atrocious gang ... or is it. As the information becomes available and every new twist gets added to the tally you can't help but step back and go, oh my goodness this is so clever! Ember makes such a good main character, deeply flawed and with no aim up until this case, and here she is going to have to fight to save herself on top of it! Honestly this blew my mind, this was clever and calculated and the plot was just incredible and now I am sitting here wondering what I am I going to do with my life while I wait for the next book... there bloody better be a next book!! Everyone knows about Frankenstein but how many people actually know the story... Well was one of them so when @kenneth_b_andersen approached me to read his retelling of Frankenstein I jumped at the chance. This is a tale of obsession for me - Victor with his work, the monster with Victor. It was fascinating to see how and why the idea formed and how it was all put together. I must say I actually felt pity for the monster, it did not seem like he was bad in any way just lonely and the more people ran from him the angrier he became. It is actually quite sad in the end. The descriptions were vivid and I could build a clear picture in my mind of the surroundings and the creature. Every new page brought new information and I flew through the book at break neck speed. The illustrations in the book done by @illustrator.rasmus Were incredible and added to the gothic feel of the book. I Highly recommend this tale of horror you will not be disappointed!

The Martini club is back! This group of retirees always manages to get themselves involved with some sticky situations and usually the outcome is fast paced and layered with suspense. In this one the focus is more on Ingrid and it was an absolute joy to get to know her better. It's not hard to imagine why they were all very successful spies back in their days. I love the thrill of the chase and @tess.gerritsen did a fantastic job keeping me entertained all the way through. The clues and twists kept me guessing trying to figure out what is the drive behind the murders. As the "alphabet departments" join the race to the truth it also upped the pace and the last hour was like a fight for my life! The audio done by @hillaryoutloud was fantastic, adding a layer of authenticity to the characters! This was an excellent read, I can't wait to see what the Martini club gets up to next!

I really like Callum he came across as very knowledgeable and he works extremely well with his team. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the team and my favourite has to be Daisy. She has a great mind and works very well with Callum. This story starts of slow but soon picks up speed. The twists and lies that slowly gets uncovered were exciting and kept my mind engaged. The plot was engaging and I never guessed the killer. The last few chapters holds the great reveal but there were clues throughout the story. Great thriller with good police procedure.

I devoured this book and now of course I will have to go do a reread of the series because there was little easter eggs hidden between the pages and I need to know how they connect. This was creepy and ominous, the feeling of "things aren't what they seem" stuck with me all the way through. The pace of the book is slow and calculated, adding layer of dread to the already suspenseful plot making this an excellent spooky read. At stages I felt Charlotte's confusion as if it was my own another well brought in illusion adding to the books feel. The twists and reveals towards the end was epic and a touch sad if I'm honest. This had great horror elements with a dash of thrill and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I am looking forward to read more by @danielgmillerauthor!

What a fascinating read! I was immediately pulled into this story, @barristersecret knows how to open a book! This absolutely insane and detailed look into everything that happens in a court while a trial is going on was mesmerising. This was a murder trial involving three young men allegedly murdering a pensioner. As we delve deeper and facts are uncovered I couldn't help the doubts build in my mind. The various POV's were fantastic and gave you a pretty good look into the minds and views of the person talking. The twists throughout and major revelation at the end was enough to keep me up till two last night to finish this. My only gripe was this read very difficult, I don't know if it is the legal jargon or writing style but it took me a bit longer than usual to finish this. Overall probably the best court room book I have read.

This girl knows her stuff and even when faced with some annoying complications she takes it in her stride, scheming and manipulating to get through it. This was done in such a good way. It starts of with snippets of days - like in a diary, describing situations and moments which feels very random at first. Once you discover why this is done, everything slowly starts to make sense. Gordon has lost his memory and what makes this incredible is how now you can experience first hand how he feels as he remembers more and more. The angst and fear feels so real like it was my own! You can literally imagine him delving into his mind to piece this puzzle back together. A fascinating story with an engaging plot. Slow paced which adds to that feeling of the unknown and the frustration of wanting more but it's just out of reach. @guylawson274 paced this book so well, it works incredibly well with the plot! I love it when I finish a book and I sit there with a stupid grin on my face staring into the unknown. @sarahmorganwrites might as well be called the queen of feel good. This was happy and wholesome and left me with all the feels. Not everything was happy though, there were some tough scenes about grief and relationships but she guided us through there with an amazing amount of skill. Following various complex stories like this can get messy but it didn't in this, it worked so well adding to the dynamic of the relationships within the book. This is a book for young and old, about choosing yourself and never giving up. Just the right thing to make your day and give you some pep in your step for the week to come.

I think @gosian18 captured the fear and angst of Rozalia so accurately, I felt debilitated myself after the first few chapters. Set against this beautiful back drop it is hard to believe the horrors that occurred among these vineyards. Being taken from your family and forced to work for your captors and then returning and living the rest of your life out there makes no sense, and hence the captivating tale of what truly happened starts. This felt like a true story!! I know it wasnt but as a South African born in the early 80's I know first hand what it was like there and still is to a certain extent! Patrick and Chanelle are both characters that were written very well and you realise how much time and effort went into the research of this book! This was a very volatile time and I thought @the_lai_detector did an amazing job putting this to paper. The challenges facing them were portrayed well and the romance angle added a certain amount of depth to their characters. Adding the personal and historical stories together made this such a compelling read and I could not stop, I was fully invested! This is a historical fiction that comes very close to reality for me and I hope readers can understand the true significance of what the author is trying to tell us. This was shocking and entertaining and left you with a feeling of sadness and hope at the end. A very complex read that had my emotions all over the place! Also the cover had me blink away a tear, I'm from South Africa and the Acacia tree on there is my favourite tree, it definitely brought back some memories for me!

What an incredible book! I have to take my hat of to @danflanigan_books for writing not just about child abuse but also the satanic panic era of the 80's. This was such an engaging story! Things were different back then, we all know that and this court room drama highlights just how much. This is my first book in the O'Keefe series and if the rest are like this well then sign me up! What starts off as a simple investigation snowballs into one of the most tragic things I have ever read in my life. This was shocking and kind of terrifying!  To understand pack mentality like this will take a lot time and facts. I was convinced by the end who was right were you? The Audio provided a clinical yet calculated feel that added to the already tense atmosphere, I thought it was done brilliantly! What was truly sad was how it ended, it truly turned out to be an American Tragedy. A powerful story with themes that will make people have a conversation! This won the Audiobook of the Year 2026 from IBPA and I can understand why, well deserved!

In this book we get more background on where Kienna and the others come from and although we don't know it all yet it feels like we are getting closer to the truth. The battles are epic and I love the magic system, I would like to understand more of it though. I am not a fan of the multiple pov - there are so many people to keep track of and it is a chunky book! Along with this is the feeling of dread that she builds. As we go on and slowly start uncovering the snippets of truth, clues left scattered everywhere, you can feel the tension building, very subtle, until it is not. About halfway through is where it starts picking up, you get the same urge to get to the truth as it's within reach. I was humbled when I finished this, I spilled tears for people I don't know and I thanked the universe for everything I have. Literally could not put this down and finished it in one go Fast paced just got a new meaning and by that I mean the way I was flying through this. Lies on top of lies, family drama, murder and deceit all thrown together to make an incredible tale. The saying goes money is the root of all evil and finishing this I believe it to be very true in this case. Every single character in this was a deplorable human being , well maybe not Jennie, she was sweet, but the rest .... not great or at least their actions weren't great. Despite this I still found Mel and Liv likeable, I mean who here can honestly say they have never made a wrong choice in their life. This was so much fun and ultra mysterious and I loved every second of this! Great story, great writing and can't wait to read more from this author.

Oh my goodness!! What an emotional finale to The Seven Sisters series! I was left with tears in my eyes and a feeling of content, I suppose we could not have asked for a better story! There was always the mystery surrounding Pa Salt and many of my questions finally found answers. It was truly enjoyable to have all the sisters together in a book again and what a journey they were in for. At points through the book I had to stop and recall events from the previous books and the picture final became clearer with each new revelation. It seems fitting that his story so closely mirror that of his daughters - a journey coming full circle. Absolutely loved every second of this series - I might have to do a reread to see what easter eggs I've missed in the previous books! I highly recommend this entire series! Not just have I learnt a lot but I've also found a great author and thankfully she has more books for me to discover!

Well wasnt this just fantastic! I loved every second of this! Historical fiction with a dash of romance and a daring murder .... now this sounds like a night in ... with popcorn! I just love Samantha's writing style! This book read so easy. The story kept flowing naturally and the revelations came through with ease, keeping me informed and at the same time pondering where this new clue is leading to. There was never a dull moment and nothing was obvious from the start. I love closed room murder mystery and this definitely delivered. William and Althea made such a great duo, I was rooting on them from the start. Althea's quirky comebacks and Williams stoic manner was fresh and felt genuine. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this, I really do hope that we can expect a next one!!

I loved this!! As prep for this ARC I read the first two books in the series last month and I very quickly became obsessed with Leo and Shan. They are such a likeable duo! I think Cath hit the nail on the head with these two and the incredible geographical area this plays out inThe inclusion of their personal life stories in the books make it so easy to think of them as friends! You know all their dirty little secrets, mannerisms and personality quirks. This was fast paced and packed with twists and secrets, enough to keep you guessing all the way through. In the end this was actually a very tragic tale and I felt sad at the end of it. All of this could have been stopped if someone just listened. What I am glad for is the fact that there could possibly be a next in the series .... only time will tell!!

What I love about @kathyreichs books is much deeper that just a story. The vast amount of information I've received from reading her books is just incredible and this one was no different! I love the thrill of the chase, how she takes each bit of information and slowly piece together the missing bits. Discovering dead infants and landing up on the other side of the country involved in minerals- this just screams Tempe! And yes I loved every second of this!

I love doing a reread! There is nothing better than falling back into the pages of your favourite books! It's like coming home after a horrible day out. I love this series, in fact this might be my favourite out of all of her series! Bryce and Hunt are just such a good combo, I love them. The second time reading a book you discover nuggets that you didnt before and make connections you couldn't because all the info is only supplied in the next book! It's like unwrapping a gift a couple of times and everytime these is something new. Let's see where the next one takes me!

Oh my days ... this was incredible, powerful and so damn sad all wrapped up in between two covers! This was a very emotional read. @karinslaughterauthor has an amazing gift to combine the atrocious with deep heart ache that leaves you reeling when done. The back and forth between what happened now and 28 years ago and the slow uncovering of the truth for both cases was deliciously dark, I could not stop even if I wanted to till I had all the info! I love a book that can draw you in like that, gory and awful and just irresistible! This was a great story that will keep your focus all the way through, fantastic writing!!

This was such an intense book!! Small town murder mysteries always leave me reeling when I'm done. The combination of the shocking murder and knowing every person in town make for such a good read, the suspect is usually the one know one expects! @karinslaughterauthor nailed this - I was totally enthralled by this story. Jumping from the the past to current timeline was incredible I love when cases intertwine like that. This was fast paced with a whole bunch of twists and reveals that left you wanting more. I can't wait to read the next one.

Read September 2026

I loved this!! For such a chunky book this read extremely fast! Katelyn kept me engaged and entertained from the first page to the last! This was such a fascinating story, gothic and dark with touches of magic ranging from the 1800's up to the current times. It literally felt like you stepped into a time capsule and the vivid descriptions of each era made for an incredibly complex picture in my mind. I felt intrigued by the setting and the folklore that surrounded the castle raven and castle mal. It felt like a real place with real people and a rich history which made this book even better! When an author can trick your mind into this kind of believe, it means they did their job justice. The characters ranged from likeable to morally grey and a few absolute horrid! I enjoyed getting to know each one of them and the effect they had on Derek's life. All i can say is that ending had me with tears in my eyes and a calmness in my heart. This was an extraordinary tale with twists and revelations that I did not see coming.

Well anyone who knows me and what I read will tell you I'm not a great fan of romance books BUT @nikkiashtonauthor has me securely in her pocket because LOVE Her romance books!! She writes the most incredible small town romance stories and I have ever read and I loved her writing from the very first book I've read of hers. Small town romance with a hottie like Nash... I mean what more can a girl want! This was such an interesting plot. At first I felt angry at Lily but as the story progresses it switch to the real culprit and I was fuming. Nash and Lily have an incredible connection that came through in the writing, and it was frustrating as heck to know such a simple explanation could clearly all the air. The back and forth between these two filled with their frustrated desire was intoxicating and I was literally hanging onto the words speed reading to see where this will end! What an exhilarating ride! This is going to be a great series and I cant wait to start the next book!!

This is turning into an incredible series! Leo and Shan are two incredible detectives, who despite some catastrophic personal events, still champions to find justice for those who can't. I love the way that @authorcathstaincliffebooks combines their personal lives with the investigations, it makes for a smooth read with emotion pulling it together. There is still the cold case element which I adore so much! There is a certain mystery that surrounds cases like this that gives me the chills every time. Shocking twists ensure I'm engaged throughout and the plot was fantastic! Can't wait for the next one in the series!

The Patient In The Tower - G.R. Pigeon Format: Digital Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 This was creepy and dark!

Split Second - R.C. Bridgestock Format: Hardcover Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What!!

Her Web Of Lies - Zee David Format: Audiobook Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I love these!!

The Other Daughter - Heidi Field Format: Digital Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Oh my goodness, what the heck!!! This was insane! @heidi.field.75 had me from the first chapter! I was so invested, this story, these children and that father. I felt such intense sorrow for little Hunter and his brother, I had no idea what I was in for. This is the first book in the series and now I am fired up to go read the rest! I want to know everything! This was intense and fast paced, laced throughout with the sick depravity of a man who clearly lost himself a long time ago. What the result is was a novel that had me engaged, shuffling through the pages as fast as my eyes can read them. What an incredible rush! Just amazing! I cannot wait to see what else this amazing author has out there. Guys you will not be sorry... go read this book .... even better read the series!!!

📬📬 BOOK MAIL!! 📬📬 Join us on this Read Along as we work our way through this extraordinary true story I'm Fine by Richard Hall Starting on 1 July 2026, don't miss this! Blurb: In 2024 a gay youth leader was jailed for 22 years. One of his victims tells why it took him two decades to call the police. In 1996, at the age of fourteen, Richard Hall met a man who changed his life. Two and a half decades later, he called the police. As a result, the man was jailed for twenty-two years. This is the story of what came before the police: how a teenage boy who had been hounded at school because he was gay walked into a world where he thought he would be safe, but which he was too inexperienced to navigate. In his naïvety, he believed what happened next was normal, or somehow his fault. Written with honesty, courage, and surprising moments of humour, I'm Fine is both a deeply moving memoir and a powerful warning about predators operating behind the protection of community status.

The Names - Florence Knapp Format: Paperback Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ What a chilling tale! What is in a name? Well I can tell you quite a bit especially in this book! We are witnesses to three "names" three very very different outcomes, three incredible stories. @florenceknapp_ takes domestic abuse to another level in this book, an indepth look into how a family was shaped by the actions of everyone. For each timeline or name given to the new born boy you get a look into how that boy's life was drastically changed by the actions of his father and mother. This was haunting tale that left me speechless and I've not stopped thinking about it. Definitely a must read to everyone, check trigger warnings before you do. This will stay with you for some time to come.

Tam's Tale - Michael Findlay Format: Hardcover Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Well what a peculiar story this was! The mix of folk lore and magic had me interested from the first page. I believe that fate is real and this story relates to that in so many ways. @michaelalistairfindlay Skillfully draws you into the story and you can't help but get lost in the pages. The amazing art in the book by @lonericcraven was simply breathtaking, each piece fitting so well with the story as you progress. The journey Tam had to go through to reach his destination was incredible. From the minute he found that eye his life was changed drastically. I loved how he had a support network of friends and helpers who didnt know him from a bar of soap and yet protected him fiercely. I love Mrs Percival she was such a clever character, her fast thinking and nonchalant attitude saved the day on a few occasions and I think Kristine learnt a lot from her. The chaos in Colonia was diabolical, I loved every second of that! The ingenious ways they plans was set in motion and the trickery involved left me speechless. This was a great story and would highly recommend to fantasy fans.

Funny Story - Emily Henry Format: Audiobook Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I mean this was just the best thing I've read in a while!! Absolute joy! I have no idea where Waning Bay is but I'm moving there tomorrow because Miles, oh yes Miles, he is just a dream isn't he? I loved the banter between him and Daphne and this whole tale felt like a fairytale! What possibly more can a girl want. This was choas and sobering reality at the same time, the most fun I've had in a while, while reading a book. The story was unique and endearing and kept me entertained all the way through! Great read, highly recommend!

The River Muse - Laura Resau Format: Digital Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was incredible! The writing combined with the setting made for an enchanted read. @lauraresau has the incredible ability to make a story come alive! Her descriptive writing painted a very vivid picture in my mind and it was like I was there in the French Countryside along with Callie. This had a magical feel to it and it definitely helped with breaking the tension because there were some very hard topics discussed in the book. What I appreciate was the fact that the story highlights the fact that you don't have to accept your circumstances and there is always a way out. My emotions were all over the place while reading this, a sign of a great book in my opinion! Fantastic read - you will find hope and found family and even romance in this book, a great read that I would highly recommend.

All The Light We Cannot See - Anthony Doerr Format: Audiobook Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 This was an interesting read. The writing was beautiful and Anthony captures the surroundings so vividly, if you close your eyes you can create a magnificent picture and almost hear those sounds. So here is the thing the back and forth between timeliness got a bit confusing for me and I honestly still don't get really what the book was about. Although it was moving and tugged at the heart strings it was missing something that should grab my attention. As far as historical fiction goes - it was good but not great for me.
